Real Estate Tips from Bob Rich-The Moving Date

Whether you plan to buy or sell, there will be a household move in store. You and your van line representative should agree on what date or (between what dates) your shipment is to be picked up, and what date (or between what dates) it is to be delivered to the new address. The first and last few days of each month are generally the heaviest for the moving companies. Avoiding these days can make your move go much more smoothly.
If you moving plans are flexible, however, keep in mind that summer is the peak moving season. The availability of moving equipment and personnel during “off peak” times can allow the move to be tailored more precisely to your specific requirements.
If your move must be made in the summertime, schedule as far advance as possible to avoid delays in pickup and delivery. It is generally not a good idea to agree to have your shipment picked up “as soon as possible.” The dates should be definite.
